Retreat: Mindfulness Meditation with Joyful Effort

9:30 am Saturday, October 10, 2015

Every action we take – eating, drinking, walking, talking – can be done with mindfulness. In this one-day retreat with Geshe Gelek we will practice serious mindfulness with joyful effort!

The retreat will be held at Noland's farm, a member's lovely home and facility in Alamance County. The day will be spent in mindfulness meditation, with a beautiful and peaceful environment to nurture our ability to be mindful in the moment.

We will bring our own lunches and picnic on the lawns, weather permitting.

The basic schedule for the day will be:
9 to 9:30 a.m. – Arrival, check in, settle into the gompa
   9:30 a.m. –  Retreat orientation and logistics
   10 a.m. – First session
Noon  –  Lunch (only meal for the retreat)
   1:30p.m.  - Second session
   3 p.m.  – Third session
5-5:30 p.m.  – Retreat ends, followed by karma yoga cleanup

The retreat is being offered on a donation basis. You can help cover the costs of the retreat by making a donation to Kadampa Center online, by check, credit card in the bookstore, or cash in the boxes in our lobby - please indicate the funds are for the retreat. There will also be opportunities to make cash or check donations to both the center and directly to Noland's farm at the retreat. Specific directions to the farm and other important information will be sent to attendees after they register, closer to the time of the retreat.
