Stupa Consecration Ceremony

9:30 am Saturday, May 25, 2013

Kadampa Center is thrilled to announced that after many years of planning, fundraising, and thousands of hours of work by our stupa artist Jampel and donated by volunteers, the stupa is complete!

The purpose of this holy object is to benefit world peace, bringing compassion and loving kindness to all sentient beings. Saka Dawa is a special annual holy day celebrating Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana, so we are excited to be finished in time to dedicate the stupa on this day, May 25th. Everyone is invited to attend. If you'd like to make a light offering, bring a candle (and lighter would be helpful) to hold while circumambulating the stupa. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in the center lobby.

Contribute to this once-in-a-lifetime event!

Sponsor this event

Sponsors help make the stupa and the center a reality. It's obvious even on the surface how much merit is created by donating towards holy objects and a place for the teachings since they will have an impact on many people, hopefully for many lifetimes. If you'd like to sponsor the consecration ceremony for the completion of the stupa, full sponsorhips are $500 and half-sponsorships are $250. As part of our deep gratitude, your name and, if you'd like, a personal dedication will be read as part of the ceremony.

Volunteers

We'll need a lot of volunteer help on Saturday morning to help set up and greet everyone - please email program@kadampa-center.org if you'd like to contribute your time and energy.
