FPMT news regarding Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Sunday, April 13, 2025, marks the two-year anniversary of Lama Zopa Rinpoche showing the aspect of passing away.  Advice for the Anniversary of the Guru's Passing Away, is available from the FPMT Foundation Store. This short text explains the importance of making offerings on the anniversary of one's guru.

Please read A Most Joyful Announcement Regarding the Reincarnation of Lama Zopa Rinpoche.  His Holiness the Dalai Lama has confirmed that the reincarnation of Lama Zopa Rinpoche has been born in Nepal.  In place of the Swift Return Prayer for Lama Zopa Rinpoche, we will now be reciting Migtsema 4-line prayer.

How to participate in classes and events at Kadampa Center

Our programs are offered in a variety of formats depending on the class or event.  Please refer to the Kadampa Center CALENDAR to confirm how each program is being offered. Determine which of the following options works best for you based on these descriptions:

  1. IN PERSON:  Participating in person means the class or event will be held in the gompa or elsewhere in the Center or on the grounds.  This is the very best way to participate!  Attending in person is the most interactive way to participate, and you also have the benefit of being in the presence of the teacher, other sangha members, holy objects, and the community of other practitioners.

  2. ZOOM:  Participating via Zoom is a good option if you do not live locally or cannot physically come to the Center for other reasons.  This option is somewhat interactive.  PLEASE NOTE:  If you attend Kadampa Center programs via Zoom, we ask that you have your camera on, whenever possible, and participate as though you are part of the class and in the presence of the teacher.  All of our teachers can see Zoom participants on-screen, therefore you are encouraged not to eat or otherwise be occupied while attending class on Zoom.

  3. LIVE STREAM via YouTube: This is a non-interactive, view-only option.  Kadampa Center volunteers are no longer monitoring chat on YouTube.  If you'd like a more interactive experience, please plan to join using one of the other options above.
