Board Messages:

November, 2019

The board of directors are grateful for many reasons this time of year: Our teachers, volunteers, staff, community and for all of those who sustain Kadampa Center in so many ways. We celebrate the exciting, wonderful visit by Venerable George who gave insightful teachings and touched our hearts. The 2020 Annual Appeal is underway and we are hopeful that it will be a great success!

Looking to the Future,
Your Kadampa Center Board of Directors

September, 2019

Through the generosity of several of their students around the world, including a few local members, our Geshes were able to purchase a beautiful new home. We rejoice in the amazing merit created by these private donors and we are filled with gratitude for the knowledge that our Geshes have an even more secure future here in North Carolina.

We look forward to the teachings of Venerable George Churnoff Nov 1-17. Planning for the next Light of the Path is well underway and a preliminary draft of our 2020 Budget is already under review.

Looking to the Future,

Your Kadampa Center Board of Directors

Welcome home Geshe Gelek! We invite everyone to join in our big celebration, Saturday, August 3 at 4 pm, as we rejoice in marking the 20th anniversary of Geshe-la’s arrival to teach at Kadampa Center. Geshe-la and Geshe Sangpo will both be on hand for the festivities. Don’t miss out - we will be announcing wonderful news for the Kadampa Center Community! See you there.

With love and appreciation,

Your Board of Directors

May our intentions and actions continue to fulfill the wishes of our teachers.

May, 2019

There are so many wonderful events happening at Kadampa Center! We welcome the opportunity to receive teachings from Ven. Robina on June 17-23. Look for His Holiness birthday event on July 6th and 7th. Save the Date of Aug 3rd! We will be celebrating Geshe Gelek’s 20th anniversary of teaching at Kadampa Center and have Big Surprises in store! During Sangha Appreciation Day this morning, Denise Flora led a powerful exercise that the BOD would like to share: please take 10 seconds and consider what the Kadampa Center would be like without Sangha. Our community and our Center is so fortunate to have our Geshes and our Nuns. We are continuing to work for the success and sustainability of the center.

With love and appreciation,

The 2017 Light of the Path and Family Dharma Camp were a resounding success! Wow! Wow! Wow! From the bottom of our hearts - thank you to all of the participants and the dozens of volunteers who made it possible. We also want to thank all the people who made Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s visit here to Kadampa Center such a beautiful event.

Our beautiful new Lama Atisha statue is an amazing addition to our Center as well as the fulfillment of Lama Zopa Rinpoche's wishes. Donations from many people made it possible to bring Lama Atisha here -- thank you!

We are working on our 2018 Budget and looking forward to another wonderful year for our Center.

Much love,

~ Your Board of Directors

Thanks to Jill and the many volunteers who came together to make the 25th Anniversary Gala such a huge success. Also thanks to our SPC, Donna, who must have a Thousand Arms, for keeping all of our classes and programs running smoothly, coordinating visiting teachers as well as planning the upcoming LOP Retreat.

Exciting times are coming with the visit of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Light of the Path Retreat, arrival of the Lama Atisha Statue and (hopefully:) His Holiness the Dalai Lama coming to Raleigh in October! With all these amazing events and opportunities at Kadampa Center, we face some larger than normal expenses. Your continued generosity to help support these auspicious events is greatly appreciated.
