Pen Pals

Do you remember the days of writing letters? After using technology most of your day, would you like an opportunity to practice your penmanship? Do you reminisce about the joy you felt when you received a friend’s letter in the mail? Does the idea of discussing the dharma in a casual and meaningful way resonate with you? If the answer to any of these is “yes”, Kadampa Center Prison Project wants YOU to be a pen pal!

It doesn't take a Buddhist scholar to write to an inmate. Just someone with a warm heart, a compassionate ear, and the willingness to keep a conversation going. Most inmates want someone to share their meditation experiences with, and get a bit of practical advice.

If you miss the days of sending letters using pen and paper, this is a great opportunity to practice your penmanship and be of great service. Our pen pal coordinator Amanda Henry would be happy to answer any questions you have, and tell you more! Please respond to prison-penpals@kadampa-center.org.
