Celebration of His Holiness' Nobel Peace Prize and Family Program

On December 10, 1989, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

We will celebrate the anniversary of this event by inviting His Holiness into the gompa, saying Long Life Prayers and offering food.

In addition, Tibetan students from Duke University will offer songs and give presentations on His Holiness and the state of affairs in Tibet.

We offer a full range of children's programs on Sundays. Children are invited to sit on the blue cushions at the front of the gompa, and then depart to their classes after opening prayers. Any child who wishes to is welcome to remain in the gompa for the teachings.
