Venerable Robina Courtin March 14-20
Kadampa Center is happy to welcome Venerable Robina Courtin for one week of teachings March 14-20, 2016.
Venerable Robina is a dynamic teacher with great skill in articulating the Dharma for Western audiences, in a style that combines wit, sharp insight, and deep compassion.
During her visit to Kadampa Center, she will teach on "Self-Forgiveness, Compassion and Purification" and "How to Help Others Enjoy Death." She will also teach our Monday night Discovering Buddhism class on Wisdom of Emptiness and the Tuesday Meditation class as well as Sunday morning's Dharma for a Happy Life session.
Because Dharma teachings are so precious, we never want money to be an obstacle to hearing them, so at Kadampa Center we have a tradition of not charging for Dharma events. We rely completely on the kind generosity of donors to make Venerable Robina's visit possible. Sponsor the teachings.
Ordained since the late 1970s, Venerable Robina Courtin has worked full time since then for Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche's FPMT. Ven. Robina spent ten years editing for Wisdom Publications followed by over five years as the main editor of Mandala Magazine. She was also the founder and executive director of Liberation Prison Project. Ven. Robina travels the world teaching Buddhism to students of all ages and levels. Her life and work with prisoners have been featured in the documentary films Chasing Buddha and Key to Freedom.
