Come view the traveling exhibit of

The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama

Saturday, December 7 from 10:00am – 3:00pm
Sunday, December 8: from 9:00am – 3:00pm
with special presentations at 11:00am and 1:00pm

Join us at Kadampa Center to view "The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama." This traveling exhibition of poster reproductions presents art as a lens through which we can see our common humanity and explore the many meanings of peace. Its purpose is to foster real reflection and engagement with peace on individual, family and community levels.

The original exhibition was developed by the Committee of 100 for Tibet and the Dalai Lama Foundation. This smaller, yet still compelling, offering is brought to us by Sue Etheridge. As an Art Therapist at the Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, NC, Sue exhibited "The Missing Peace" at the Complex in 2008 and 2011. Because of her work with the prisoners, in 2014 she will be recognized for her achievements by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

On Sunday, Dec. 8 at 11:00am and 1:00pm, Sue will present a slide show of her exhibits at the Federal Prison, and provide insights to many of the art pieces based on her experience at one of the original major museum showings.

The exhibition includes:

  • more than 20 reproductions of The Missing Peace art works
  • interactive works
  • activities for children
