Join the celebration as we ring in the Tibetan New Year (Losar) on Sunday, February 11th, beginning at 10:30am.  Kadampa Center has a lot to rejoice in and look forward to in the Year of the Wood Dragon!

Plan to join us for this very family friendly event ~ in fact, Family Program participants will remain in the gompa to celebrate with everyone!

The morning begins with a procession of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's photograph into the gompa, where he'll be seated on the tall throne.  Afterwhich, we'll learn about Losar and how it is celebrated in Tibetan culture.  There will also be Tibetan music, singing and dancing, and a special visit by the Snow Lion!

Bring your appetite, as the Kadampa Center community will be treated to delicious, traditional Tibetan treats!

Tibetan New Year ~ Losar ~ falls on Saturday, February 10 this year, and we will celebrate on Sunday, Feb. 11.  Losar marks the beginning of the Fifteen Days of Miracles, a festival of prayer.  Lama Zopa Rinpoche advises us that this is an especially auspicious time to do spiritual practice, because our merit multiplies exponentially. For FPMT centers, Losar is a special time as it commemorates the anniversary of FPMT founder Lama Yeshe’s passing (parinirvana) at dawn of Losar in 1984.

Losar is an exciting time for all ~please join us, everyone is welcome!
