UPDATE PAGE regarding Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Kadampa Center has had a special connection to Lama Zopa Rinpoche over the years. He chose our center to host the Light of the Path retreats, and gave teachings here in Raleigh before the beginning of each LOP retreat. We have been very blessed by his presence.

Kadampa Center is sponsoring a puja at Kopan Monastery outside Kathmandu, Nepal for Lama Zopa Rinpoche's swift return to continue leading us toward liberation. It will take place in the fifth week after Rinpoche's passing. Kopan has been Rinpoche's home for the past several years. 

Students in our community have offered well over the $4,000 cost of the puja, which includes extensive offerings and donations to Kopan sangha. On Geshe Gelek's advice, all additional funds will go toward a Medicine Buddha Puja for Rinpoche's swift return, here at Kadampa Center, Sunday, May 14, 10:30 am. We will serve a light lunch.
Students are also invited to come on Saturday, May 13 at 2 pm to help set up the gompa and the extensive offerings for the puja, with guidance from Geshe Sangpo. This is a great chance to work closely with Geshe Sangpo and to learn more about altar offerings, hand-on.
