Holy Day Assistant

Holy Days Assistant

The Holy Days Assistant helps facilitate planning for holy days by working with the Spiritual Program Coordinator (SPC) and Holy Day Coordinator. The assistant would keep track of the yearly schedule, help communicate the events with instructions from the Coordinator, put Volunteer jobs on VolunteerSpot, be available to help at the center on holy days to keep the center open and other duties as delegated by the SPC.

Qualifications
- Comfort and ability with technology (websites, email)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to create schedules and initiate reminders, follow ups, and self-manage
- Dedication to the importance of practice on holy days

Training to be completed:
• Learn how to set up and empty the community's altar water bowls (training is provided)
• Training with the Facilities Manager on how to open and close the center

Commitment
There are only about 8 special days in the year that fall into this category, so a one-year commitment is requested. Preparation for each of those days needs to begin four weeks in advance, so it’s an ongoing position with at most an hour or two a week needed, plus help on the days themselves.
