Khensur Rinpoche Confers Highest Yoga Tantra Initiation

In a rare and precious opportunity, Khensur Rinpoche will confer a Yamantaka Highest Yoga Tantra Initiation at Kadampa Center.
Sunday, November 6, 10:30 am
This is a Highest Yoga Tantra initiation, therefore students who take the full initiation must take bodhisattva vows and tantric vows (offered during the initiation). Additionally, students will be given commitments for daily practice. Students who choose to take the full initiation should have a good intellectual understanding of the three principal aspects of the path.
Students who do NOT take the full initiation are highly encouraged to take the initation as a blessing only, which does not require vows or commitments.

About the Yamantaka Initiation
All are welcome and encouraged to attend the Vajrayogini Initiation! Students may choose to receive the full initiation or choose to take the initiation as a blessing only.
The Yamantaka Initiation will begin at 10:30 am on Sunday, Nov 6, and will take several hours each day, with a lunch break as needed. Khensur Rinpoche will determine the ending time each day.
To receive the full initiation:
- Students must have taken Refuge, the five lay vows, the bodhisattva vows, and the tantric vows associated with the Vajrayogini Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment.
- Khensur Rinpoche will offer Refuge, the five lay vows, and the bodhisattva vows on Saturday, Nov 5th at 10am.
- Students should understand that they will likely be given a commitment of a daily practice connected to the Vajrayogini deity.
- Students should have a good intellectual understanding of the three principal aspects of the path - renunciation, bodhicitta and emptiness.
- Students must attend in person to receive the full initiation.
To take the initiation as a blessing only:
- Students do not need to take any vows, including refuge.
- Students may attend via Zoom or live streaming on YouTube. YouTube streaming will be taken down immediately after the event; it will not be available for later viewing.
- Students will not be bound to a commitment of a daily practice
Students may take the initiations as a blessing only online via Zoom or live streaming on YouTube (YouTube streaming will be taken down immediately after the event). Students who attend online will take the initiation as a blessing only. Those who wish to receive the full initiation must attend in person.
Kadampa Center will hold a Q&A session for students who have questions about taking tantric initiations, led by our director, Robbie Watkins, and our founding member, Don Brown. The date of this session will be announced soon.
Sera Jey Khensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Delek, the former abbot of Sera Jey Monastic University in southern India and of Gyüme Tantric College, one of the foremost teachers of the "Five Major Texts" at Sera Jey, one of the last living masters educated at Sera Jey Monastery in Tibet - and, the last living teacher of our own beloved Resident Geshes, Geshe Gelek Chodha and Geshe Palden Sangpo - will confer this initiation.
