Visit with Penpa Tsering
Last Sunday, March 26th, we had a highly informative visit from Penpa Tsering, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Americas, about the affairs in Tibet. During his visit, Mr. Tsering urged us to contact our Senators and Congressmen about the severe restrictions to Tibetan areas of China and the related reciprosity issue as a means to encourage meaningful dialogue and protect Tibetan rights. The following information about this issue was found on the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) website:
[Request] Enforcement of norms of reciprocity to ensure that senior Chinese officials responsible for restricting the access of U.S. officials, journalists, Tibetan-Americans and other citizens to Tibetan areas of China are themselves restricted in their travel when they are in the United States.
