One of the ways we can honor our teachers and deepen our connection to them is by saying prayers for their long lives.

Many teachers have a long life prayer composed for them, so Kadampa Center made a request to Geshe Gelek's teacher, Khensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Delek to have a prayer for Geshe-la.

Khensur Rinpoche recommended that we recite at least 200,000 Tara mantras annually and dedicate them to Geshe Gelek's long life.

In 2016, we also requested advice about a long life prayer for Geshe Sangpo, who is also a student of Khensur Rinpoche, and his advice was to expand our dedication to include Geshe Sangpo.

 We will be reciting these regularly at the Center, and invite those who feel a close connection to Geshe Gelek and Geshe Sangpo to recite mantras on their own.
