Khensur Rinpoche Leads Us in Practice

~ Circumambulation and Potluck Social Gathering ~

 

We are very fortunate to be able to do this practice with an extraordinary teacher, Sera Jey Khensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Delek, former abbot of Sera Jey monastery!

Saturday, November 26, 10:30 am

We hope everyone will join in this family-friendly event, with special ways for children to participate.  We will begin with the Circumambulation Practice followed by a Friendsgiving Community Potluck with Khensur Rinpoche.

 

Children will have two special opportunities:

  • During the circumambulation, we will have auspicious symbols for them to carry
  • After final prayers, children may offer a khata to Khensur Rinpoche before we break for the social gathering

And for everyone:

The Friendsgiving Community Potluck will start immediately after circumambulation. Bring a dish to share and lawnchairs! We plan on being outside if the weather permits.

Circumambulating sacred objects is a simple and powerful way to purify and create merit. Kadampa Center is blessed to have not only a stupa, but a gompa filled with statues, thangkas and holy texts – all powerful objects for circumambulation!

This very family-friendly, merit-building event is for everyone!  After the Circumambulation Practice, the fun will continue as we gather for a social event with Khensur Rinpoche! Bring your family, a dish to share and lawn chairs, too. We plan to be outside if weather permits!

ABOUT KHENSUR RINPOCHE

Sera Jey Khensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Delek is the former abbot of Sera Jey Monastic University in southern India and of Gyüme Tantric College, one of the foremost teachers of the "Five Major Texts" at Sera Jey, one of the last living masters educated at Sera Jey Monastery in Tibet - and, the last living teacher of our own beloved Resident Geshes, Geshe Gelek Chodha  and Geshe Palden Sangpo.
